Faculty Training Institute (FTI), a leading business analysis, project management, enterprise architecture and testing training company in South Africa, recently celebrated the success of its graduating business analysts from its signature professional programme called the Diploma in Business Analysis. As many as 700 business analysts graduate from the national company's vocational programmes each year, to meet growing corporate demand for skilled business analysts.
In the past 10 years, FTI, which was awarded 'Centre of Excellence' status by MICT SETA in 2012, has seen steady increases in its year-on-year intake of delegates. Three-thousand-five-hundred delegates have graduated with the FTI Diploma in Business Analysis over the last decade, making it the foremost BA training programme in the country.
The BA profession continues to be the fastest-growing role in IT. "Worldwide, the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) is driving awareness of the value and contribution of the role of the professional business analyst. The organisation is instrumental in advancing and setting the benchmark for BA practices," says Steve Erlank, CEO of FTI. FTI's courses are endorsed by the international body. The Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK), which is the creation of the IIBA, sets out best practice and provides the basis for standardised professional training. The Diploma in Business Analysis, as well as FTI's popular Certificate Programme in Business Analysis and other short course BA programmes, are closely aligned to the BABOK.
Tegan Bertram of Western Province Blood Transfusion, who recently graduated with merit from the diploma programme, had the following to say: "The course is highly practical and completely aligned to driving business value. The programme places a strong emphasis on work-based assignments and, coupled with rich feedback, ensures that one is able to apply the skills directly in the workplace."
Another top graduating delegate from an investment management firm shares his experience of the FTI Diploma in Business Analysis. "The comprehensive programme teaches current best practice in the BA profession and allows one to learn a very complex subject while not under the pressure of a project or work environment."
"Graduating from this professional programme is a formal way to demonstrate competence and enhance your BA skill set," says the delegate.
