Faculty Training Institute (FTI), a leading business analysis (BA), enterprise architecture, project management and testing training provider, is a gold sponsor of South Africa's second ever business analysis conference.

Business Analysis Summit Southern Africa (BASSA2013) is a conference dedicated to the profession of business analysis. It is being hosted by the South African Chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA - SA).

The conference will be held in Cape Town from 2-4 September, at the Southern Sun Cape Sun Hotel. BASSA2013 will afford business analysts the opportunity to network and develop their knowledge, skills and practice. It also provides a forum for managers, technical and business specialists, and service providers to explore ways in which to leverage the professional business analyst to unlock more business value.

"The professional business analyst is increasingly being seen as the key change agent in helping organisations identify and implement complex business solutions to obtain business value. A major focus of BASSA2013 will uncover how mature business analysts, who take responsibility on behalf of the business, can generate measurable business value," says Steve Erlank, CEO of FTI.

The two-day conference, themed 'The Professional Business Analyst: Unlocking Business Value' covers four main themes:

* The BA in the organisation
* Professional development and career planning
* The practice of business analysis (including tools and techniques)
* Business analysis and value creation (including innovation, risk management, governance, creativity, change agent, agility, etc)

Conference highlights include a keynote address from acclaimed author and Business Rules guru, Ron Ross, and guest speaker Gladys Lam, a world-renowned authority on applied business rule techniques. The exciting BASSA2013 conference programme includes five pre-conference workshops. The two-day conference comprises two facilitated panel discussions and two tracks, which will be led by 27 expert speakers. The tracks, which run concurrently, focus on business analysis in the organisation and the practice of business analysis.

The conference is aimed at persons with an interest in improving business through changing processes, systems, organisational structure and/or infrastructure, in fact, anyone interested in delivering solutions that fit the needs of the organisation. Typical delegates include business and systems analysts, project managers, programme managers, business architects, business process specialists, industrial engineers, change managers and business product specialists.

"FTI is thrilled to once again be associated with helping to bring this conference dedicated to the profession of business analysis to South Africa," says Erlank.

FTI was the first education provider to be endorsed by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) in South Africa and hold charter status. FTI is recognised for pioneering the profession of business analysis in South Africa.

The BASSA2013 Conference is part of FTI's comprehensive spectrum of business analysis programmes and projects within its scope as an MICT SETA recognised Business Analysis Institute of Sectoral and Occupational Excellence (ISOE). FTI's mandate is to increase the strategic and scarce skill of business analysis in the country.

"FTI seeks to continue building the leading business analysis training framework in South Africa and facilitate the ongoing growth of business analysis as a discipline and profession in South Africa," says Erlank.
