Fujifilm's 'Real 3D' coming September
Fujifilm says its 3D imaging system will arrive in stores this September, according to Digital Camera Reviews.
The first camera to feature this technology will be the FinePix Real 3D W1, sporting twin Fujinon lenses to create true 3D still images and movies. Images can be displayed in their full 3D glory with a FinePix Real 3D V1 picture viewer, an 8.0-inch display developed as part of this 3D system.
Fuji has also developed technology to allow for 3D image printing. They plan to offer printers to those who purchase the FinePix Real 3D W1, but won't put them in wide commercial release just yet.

An extension of Ricoh's commitment to production printing, the series is designed to better meet the present needs of the demanding marketplace.
'Miracle' coating-free plate revealed
A company set up by two former Agfa and Kodak R&D directors has applied for patent protection for what it is calling "the most important technology breakthrough since the introduction of thermal CTP", reports PrintWeek.
The company, JP Imaging (JPI), claims to have developed a method of laser exposure on uncoated standard grained and anodised aluminium that will switch it from its normal (oxidised) hydrophobic state to a hydrophilic state.
JPI founders Dr Rod Potts and Dr Peter Bennett, former R&D directors for lithographic printing plates at Agfa and Kodak respectively, have developed the technology in collaboration with Liverpool University with partial funding from the UK government.
