
Fujitsu deploys Oracle in Abu Dhabi
Fujistu Consulting, the services arm of the Fujitsu Group, has been awarded a contract to deploy Oracle e-business and business intelligence suite for Abu Dhabi National Industrial Projects (ADNIP), states ITP.net.
The two-year implementation project will bring a number of e-business suite modules as well as Oracle's Hyperion business intelligence solution to ADNIP, to improve business processes across the whole group.
ADNIP operates in a number of commercial sectors, and the Oracle solutions will be used for a number of its companies, including Abu Dhabi Medical Devices Company, Abu Dhabi National Carpet Company, Abu Dhabi National Paper Mills and Business Enterprise Services.
E-business course for Cornwall
A new course will be unveiled at Cornwall College in September to equip students with the skills needed for a career in electronic business, says This is the West Country.co.uk.
Commonly known as e-business, it uses IT to support business activities.
The e-business management foundation degree will be based at the college's Camborne campus and students will study a range of modules including finance, marketing, database management, website development, human computer interaction and multimedia communications.
Trinidad and Tobago up e-business
Doing its part to develop the economic landscape of Trinidad and Tobago, the Business Development Company (BDC) unveiled its BDC Trade Portal in Movietowne, reports Newsday.
The BDC Trade Portal is an online e-commerce facility, where local firms can set up their own customisable online store, and sell their products and services in real-time using a third party credit card systems to receive payments.
Albert Chow, president of the BDC, said his company recognised that ICT was mainly considered hardware and software, and was not seen as a competitiveness tool, but “the company sought to develop a mechanism through which the local business community could truly embrace the power of ICT”.
