Fujitsu develops charging

Researchers at Fujitsu Labs have developed a wireless charging technology that can replenish the batteries of several devices simultaneously, and without the need for any cables, states Industry Week.

The system, which will be unveiled at a technical conference in Japan, is expected to begin appearing on the market in mobile phones and related products as soon as 2012, according to Fujitsu.

As and wireless gadgets multiply in volume across society, developers have increasingly sought to develop a technology that would rid consumers of the clutter of chargers and cables around homes and offices.

Tablets not ready for enterprise

Tablet computers are not ready for the enterprise, according to Intel, says V3.co.uk.

Speaking at the opening keynote of IDF 2010, Intel's chief executive Paul Otellini said while tablet computers were an important new factor in the computing sphere, they would not have an impact in the corporate world for another two years.

“The tablet form factor is evolving and being additive to the computing sphere,” he said.

Garmin-Asus plans Android release

Garmin-Asus - a joint venture between Garmin and Asustek Computers - will soon release its Android device in India, writes Pluggd In.

This comes at a time when Garmin is revisiting its smartphone strategy worldwide, and might reevaluate the decision to stay in the smartphone market. Running on Android 2.1, the device will have GPS navigation capabilities and offer features similar to other smartphones, such as support for social networks.

The product, most likely to be the Garmin-Asus A10, will have 4GB internal storage, a 5-megapixel camera and a built-in POI database as well. The expected price of the device is between 20 000 and 22 000 rupees.
