Fujitsu expands SA footprint

Fujitsu will expand its footprint in SA to include all nine provinces through a distribution deal with Pinnacle Africa. Previously, the ICT business provider's presence extended to only three provinces.

“Fujitsu currently has a footprint within Gauteng, Cape Town and KwaZulu-Natal. Through Pinnacle, we'll have a footprint throughout all provinces with local stockholding,” says Fred Saayman, distribution manager at Fujitsu.

He explains that previously Fujitsu's distribution partners did not have a channel that extended to the entire country. However, the company's focus has shifted to the public sector, creating the need to grow the channel through relevant stock and distribution across SA.

“This distribution deal will assist our partners and/or resellers in the provinces to have access to stock, as well as sales support,” he adds. Saayman notes that the current agreement will be for SA only, although the partnership will look at Africa in the near future.

Trevor van Zyl, chief operations officer at Pinnacle, explains that the partnership is mutually beneficial and allows for both the expansion of Fujitsu's South African footprint, as well as offering Pinnacle Africa's customers access to the Fujitsu portfolio.

Over the coming months, Pinnacle will implement a broad range of marketing activities to implement the partnership and introduce the Fujitsu product range to the channel.
