Fujitsu has set up a consulting division in South Africa to further grow its regional core capabilities. Andre February and Ugan Naidoo will head up the new division based in the Fujitsu offices in Johannesburg.
Both bring a wealth of knowledge and experience with them having spent a number of years as management consultants for large technology and professional services organisations.
A leading thinker with respect to identity and access management (IAM) locally, Naidoo believes there is a need for more options in terms of business advisory services in the South African market.
"Demand for new business and technology solutions by organisations in both the public and private sectors has grown rapidly and the ability of current players to cope is questionable," says Naidoo. "The Fujitsu Consulting division will now have the ability to offer a broader range of services; IAM being one of the key focus areas for the division."
With prior experience of having grown consulting services for a leading professional services firm, February said: "The opportunity to grow the consulting division at Fujitsu is an exciting project to undertake; our experience in the areas of technology strategy, business change delivery and IT process improvement enables us to add value to both existing and new Fujitsu clients."
Acknowledging the excellent support provided by the Fujitsu Group, February added: "Our consultants are supported by a world-class integrated suite of business methods, processes and knowledge bases as well as a large community of experts and practitioners worldwide."
A very important move and in line with its global strategy, this expansion further demonstrates Fujitsu`s commitment to growing its local capability. Elvin de Kock, Managing Director of Fujitsu SA, said: "The addition of a consulting division further enhances the solutions we can offer to our existing and new customers. We are very fortunate to have been able to employ the services of top managing consultants, who have built a reputation for delivering innovative projects for some of the largest organisations throughout South Africa, and ensuring customers get value from their investment in technology. We will be consolidating consulting activities locally under one roof in line with the Fujitsu global model.
