Fujitsu provides 500GB storage

Fujitsu's new MHZ2 BT 2.5" hard disk drives will provide 500GB storage capacity for laptops, says Laptop Logic.

The series is one of many new products announced as part of Fujitsu's Green Innovation programme, unveiled in December 2007 to promote energy-efficient products and services as a way to help customers lower their ecological footprint.

They are also manufactured in with the EU's RoHS Directive, which limits the use of hazardous substances and make it more environment friendly.

MS launches online storage app

Microsoft has launched Windows Live SkyDrive in 38 countries and regions worldwide, says Stock Watch.

SkyDrive is the password-protected online file storage application that will provide consumers with free online storage and sharing.

The accessing and sharing the files will become easier with this feature. This application offers users to store and share the files in three ways of personal, shared, and public folders.

AOL launches Mac Xdrive

AOL has launched the first Mac version of its free online storage , Xdrive, by unveiling a public beta written for the new Adobe AIR platform, says Computer World.

The move pits the online media company against storage giant EMC in the battle to give away storage "in the cloud" to Macintosh users.

Xdrive Desktop Lite runs on AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime), Adobe Systems' new runtime.
