Fujitsu has introduced Fujitsu Financial Services to the local market, in a move it says will compete with similar offerings from Dell and HP.
Comztek has won the exclusive distribution rights to the services. According to Fujitsu, the offering will help cash-strapped small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) to sell their existing hardware equipment to Fujitsu and then lease it back.
This enables organisations to meet their IT requirements without incurring massive capital investments from IT upgrades, says the company.
Gerben Bezuidenhout, business development manager at Fujitsu Financial Services, explains that the solution offers local IT resellers relief in the face of diminishing credit facilities from distributors.
“The main driver behind the initiative was to increase Fujitsu's competitive position and footprint in the South African original equipment manufacturer market in relation to HP and Dell.”
According to Bezuidenhout, Fujitsu has already sealed several deals among local resellers and expects the financial services to be well received in the SME market.
Fujitsu is offering a 'buy now, pay later' option enabling businesses to make deferred payments of IT equipment for up to 12 months, in order to help them plan their budget and optimise IT expenditure.
Bezuidenhout says old equipment trade-ins sold to Fujitsu are either remarketed or recycled.
According to Bezuidenhout, SA joins India, Australia, Singapore and Dubai as the most recent roll-outs of Fujitsu Financial Services, which have been made available over the past year.
“Through our partnership with Fujitsu, Comztek's resellers now have access to vendor supported IT financing services to enable them to stay ahead of the curve in the rapidly changing IT sector,” says Andries Coetzee, financial director at Comztek.
“Even though the service is supported by Fujitsu, resellers are not limited to purchasing Fujitsu equipment. All brands carried by Comztek can be financed through Fujitsu Financial Services,” Coetzee adds.
