Fujitsu scores top marks for helping executives `understand` how people, process performance impact organisations

Johannesburg, 08 Aug 2006

Fujitsu`s business intelligence (BI) solution has been named a leader in the Ventana Research 2006 Performance Management Vendor and Product Scorecard report.

Ventana Research, the performance management research and advisory services firm, evaluated more than 20 vendors over a three-month period.

Ventana Research defined a methodology that links the business process of managing performance to the organisation`s information technology infrastructure.

The methodology, called PerformanceCycle, is the foundation of the research and enables organisations to ensure they direct their IT investments to manage performance most effectively.

The performance methodology contains three categories of assessment:

It ensures that contemplated actions and plans are directly related to reaching the goals, objectives and initiatives set out by executives and management.

It prepares for future decisions and actions to define the goals, objectives and initiatives set out, and enables organisations to determine, through planning and collaboration, how to improve the value of the workplace and operations to the organisation.

The third category, application scalability, reviews the historical performance of people and processes, providing an understanding of the impact on the organisation. This enables management to access key information and provides analysts with a toolkit to undertake the modelling, discovery and measurement of performance and ongoing monitoring.

"The Fujitsu BI solution was recognised for its ability to empowering executives with the understanding required to make strategic business decisions based on their organisation`s business performance," said Fujitsu BI manager Denita Lawrence.

With the philosophy that everyone, from CEO to process clerk to supplier, needs access to good information for better decision-making, the solution`s flexible, modular performance management framework is easily tailored to encourage a "culture of accountability".

"Effective performance management solutions include an open cycle of communication and action so that everyone in the organisation is able to understand and contribute toward strategic business goals."
