Broadcast signal distributor Sentech has purchased two Fujitsu Siemens Computers PRIMERGY servers to spearhead a new Web-based SAP Customer Relationship Management application. The Intel-based PRIMERGY servers were selected as they provide a stable platform for the front-end of Sentech`s Web-specific CRM project.
The two servers purchased by Sentech are: the PRIMERGY B210 866 MHz Dual Processor with 3 X 18GB HDD and 1GB RAM, to be used for Web development; and, the PRIMERGY E200 1GHz Dual Processor with 4 X 9GB HDD, RAID Controller and 1GB RAM to be used as an application server.
The PRIMERGY server range is a highly-scalable family of Intel-based servers with many different models suitable for a multitude of business applications. The design and functionality of the PRIMERGY range of servers amplifies Fujitsu Siemens Computers` commitment to business critical-computing. The range extends from small and medium-sized workgroup servers through to high-end enterprise servers for mission-critical applications.
Alkis Flemetakis, ICL`s account manager responsible for Sentech, says: "We reviewed the options available to Sentech and selected the hardware that would give Sentech scalability and flexibility throughout the entire project. The Fujitsu-Siemens platform was chosen due to it being a Tier 1 Intel Platform that is Microsoft Certified to run the Windows 2000 operating system. The Web application will grow tremendously over the next few years and thus we required technology that could grow with the application. The PRIMERGY servers were selected for their reputation and reliability as they will provide the front-end interface between Sentech and their customers."
