Fujitsu`s strategic partner for providing capability for the delivery of Fujitsu`s business intelligence solution, Information Builders, has announced that its WebFOCUS 7 has achieved "Powered by SAP NetWeaver" certification.
"WebFOCUS 7 easily integrates with the SAP NetWeaver open integration and application platform, providing operational business intelligence to users of SAP Enterprise Portal," says Fujitsu WebFOCUS product manager Denita Lawrence. "This enables developers to seamlessly include information from other ERP, legacy and home-grown systems, as well as combining data from SAP solutions with other data in a single report.

WebFOCUS 7 provides developers of SAP solutions a comprehensive BI facility to integrate SAP Business Intelligence (SAP BI), including SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW), into operational systems for improvement of optimal decision-making and cost reductions. WebFOCUS`s report output can be dynamically generated into HTML, Excel, Excel PivotTables, PDF, and XML formats, giving users exactly what they need to make timeous decisions.
The software provides secure automated delivery of any WebFOCUS reports from SAP BW and SAP R/3 directly to recipients via e-mail. This can be done on a schedule or based on real-time events. All of this functionality is available for SAP BI, SAP R/3, or any of over 280 accessible data sources and applications.
WebFOCUS 7 received the certification for its ability to run on the SAP Web Application Server Release 6.40 and for its certified iViews content for the SAP Enterprise Portal. Its certified interfaces for SAP NetWeaver provide customers with a single sign-on solution that seamlessly integrates WebFOCUS business intelligence content with the SAP Enterprise Portal.
Lawrence says the certification demonstrates Information Builders` commitment to the SAP NetWeaver platform and adds to WebFOCUS`s existing certified solution for SAP NetWeaver for accessing SAP BI through the OLAP BAPI interface.
WebFOCUS can also leverage existing Web services built in the SAP Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA). This is one of many reasons why WebFOCUS implementations can further deliver the maximum value from existing investments in SAP solutions.
"Many companies are looking to standardise on SAP solutions across the board - production systems, data warehouse, application servers and portals - however, the move to transfer their existing applications and data into a standardised solution has posed challenges and is often compounded by mergers and acquisitions that introduce new applications and data into the picture," she says.
