Galdon Data`s new board fast-tracks BEE initiative

Johannesburg, 16 Sep 2004

Galdon Data`s 30% acquisition by Abnoba a year ago has placed this winning team at the forefront of RightFax services and has extended its Microsoft solutions capabilities as a Microsoft certified partner.

The company is set to grow even further with the recent appointment of a new board of directors to sustain its hard-won position in the marketplace.

Intent on attracting and retaining the finest black intellectual capital in the country, the new board at Galdon Data is already seeing the fruits of its labour boost the credibility of the company.

The new board is made up of three individuals with complementing core competencies in technical/engineering, finance and business development.

Charting their rise to the top, and at the helm of leadership is Managing Director Garry Ackerman.

Ackerman, a graduate with a degree in Electrical Engineering, a Microsoft systems engineer and armed with a diploma in business management, continues to advance the interests of the company further, being ably assisted by his team of directors: Sebastian Wade, in the capacity of Financial Director, and Fairoz Jaffer, who is now the company`s Marketing and Sales Director, representing investment from Abnoba.

Wade has completed the Management Advancement Programme from the University of the Witwatersrand and has a diploma in Advanced Financial Management, while Jaffer is an active member of the Association for Service Management and the National Advisory Council for Innovation (Department of Science and Technology Council), and complements the team with IT industry-related experience that spans over 14 years.

Having worked for such prestigious companies as HNR Computers, WordPerfect SA, Novell SA, Ndizani and AmVia, Jaffer has garnered extensive business experience that ranges from operations, marketing, management and IT consulting. Jaffer was also a finalist in two categories for Black ICT Achievers 2001: "Black ICT Professional of the Year" and "Infopreneurs in Africa".

Embracing a stringent BEE policy since its inception with a 30% acquisition from Abnoba, making Galdon Data a black empowered company, a BEE board of directors consisting of 33% and BEE staff complements of 26% with a 33% female contingent, Galdon Data has effectively set in place a rock solid foundation that places this company in good stead in its drive towards market leadership, with both Abnoba and Galdon Data seeking new opportunities and finding creative solutions to the needs of corporate SA in a seamless and symbiotic environment. An environment that perfectly enhances a competent skill complement and the company`s fax and voice messaging, information capture solutions and Microsoft solutions.

With its depth of skill and national representation in four major cities, Galdon Data is fast becoming the recognised and clear winner in this competitive industry.
