Gap expands e-commerce reach

While Gap has struggled for years to reclaim its former glory in the mall, the global clothier has enjoyed virtually consistent gains in one area; e-commerce, says The Globe and Mail.

It started investing a decade ago in its US online sites, gradually speeding them up and, by 2008, blending its namesake, Old Navy, Banana Republic and other chains under one cyber-umbrella to encourage cross-shopping. It bolstered the e-business by adding specialty shopping sites for shoes and athletic wear.

Now, faced with growing economic uncertainty and skittish consumers, Gap is betting heavily on e-commerce beyond its US home base. It has introduced Canadian e-tailing sites for its three main chains as well as in the UK and will do so in China later this year.

Citi voted top e-bank

For the sixth time since 2004, Citi Philippines has again been recognised as the 'best consumer Internet in the Philippines' by the Global Finance magazine in its annual World's Best Internet Banks awards, reveals PhilStar.com.

Citi received this award in recognition of the strength of its strategy for attracting and servicing online customers, breadth of product offerings, evidence of tangible benefits gained from Internet initiatives, and Web site design and functionality.

The bank also received its fourth straight win as the 'best corporate and institutional Internet bank in the Philippines'.

ClickTrue, MediaCliq pair for e-business

ClickTrue, a subsidiary of SPH Magazines, and MediaCliQ, a service provider and technology enabler, recently joined forces to offer their clients traffic generating and branding solutions through Search Engine Marketing to the Malaysian market, reports AsiaOne.

The partnership leverages on clickTrue's proficiency in online performance marketing and conversion optimisation to address the needs of clients such as Nestle and Adidas for a more comprehensive solution in search marketing.

MediaCliQ will focus on what it does best: providing innovative consultation in e-business solutions for the Web and mobile.
