Gardena (SA), the local subsidiary of the German international top quality gardening equipment manufacturer Gardena AG, has awarded business and financial software reseller and solutions provider Lorge a R600 000 contract to supply, install and implement an integrated software solution based on a SAP Business One platform.
The software solution is due to go live by May and will provide ERP functionality for purchase orders, stock control and management at Gardena SA`s Vorna Valley headquarters in Midrand.
Gardena has been the gardening industry`s leading innovator of clever gardening equipment, watering techniques and controls since 1963.
"Stock and general financial reporting on Gardena SA`s current system involves tedious and error-prone re-entry into a spreadsheet program," said Eugene Olivier, GM of Lorge`s SAP Business One business unit.
"The new SAP Business One solution will enable Gardena SA to generate meaningful strategic management reports directly from the accounting package as well as take care of the financials and streamline stock procurement, distribution and sales. Forward planning will be easier and management will have greater flexibility in decision-making."
