Gartner places Xerox in managed print services Leaders' Quadrant

Johannesburg, 05 Oct 2010

Xerox, a leader in business process and document management, has been placed by Gartner in the Leaders' Quadrant of the 2010 Magic Quadrant for Managed Print Services (MPS) Worldwide.

The Magic Quadrant is a proprietary research tool developed by Gartner that offers visual snapshots of a market's direction, maturity and participants, and evaluates companies on completeness of vision and ability to execute.

“Xerox's ongoing investment to support and expand the range of MPS offerings is evidenced by its enterprise print services (EPS),” says Pierre la Grange, divisional manager: enterprise print services at Bytes Document Solutions, authorised Xerox distributor to 27 sub-Saharan countries.

“Xerox EPS goes beyond traditional MPS offerings as the first service to help gain control of documents being printed, shared and stored across the entire enterprise - whether in the office, by mobile and virtual workers or in the print centre.”

As the market leader in MPS, Xerox's client list includes global businesses such as The Dow Chemical Company, Fiat Group, Ingersoll Rand, and Procter & Gamble. Xerox also extends its offering to small and mid-sized businesses via the company's global network of channel partners, who can build their own branded MPS programme for clients with Xerox support and training.

“Xerox pioneered the MPS strategy and we continue to set the bar for strategy and execution,” says Stephen Cronin, president of Xerox Global Document Outsourcing. “Our approach goes beyond simply managing print - it's a joint venture with the client to create opportunities that align with their present and future business goals.”

For example, the newest addition to Xerox's MPS suite - mobile print - was a result of the Xerox and P&G Innovation Council, created to explore future work and technology trends and design solutions that that will benefit the P&G business. Mobile print allows employees to print directly from smartphones.
