Gartner vice-president and distinguished analyst Jim Sinur has joined leading business process management (BPM) firm, Global 360, as its first Chief Strategy Officer. With more than 15 years at Gartner Research and more than 37 years in the IT industry, Sinur is expected to focus on the company's vision of ensuring customer success through the development of industry-leading process technologies and the acquisition of strategic targets.
In South Africa and Africa, where it is represented by Emerge Africa, Global 360 has a strong track record in the public sector, as well as in telecommunications and financial services.
Emerge Africa CEO Jean Moncrieff welcomed the appointment, saying: "Jim's familiarity with the BPM and process intelligence spaces, his extensive knowledge of customer success lessons and his product and technological expertise will add a tremendous amount of value to this organisation and our customers."
Sinur is a globally-acknowledged authority on BPM and process intelligence. While at Gartner Research he researched topics including BPM, business modelling, business activity monitoring and process intelligence technologies. He was instrumental in the creation of Gartner's first "Hype Cycle" and regularly contributed to the BPM Magic Quadrant.
Before joining Gartner, from 1988 to 1992, he served as the Director of Worldwide Technologies for American Express. He was responsible for the development of the company's model-driven merchant management system and instrumental in the development of American Express' broader architecture strategy, data and database administration and the company's advanced technologies.
Before joining American Express, Sinur spent 18 years at Northwestern Mutual Life, where he was involved in the design and building of business-critical applications in the investment and annuity departments.
"After 15 years of service at the world's most respected research firm, the opportunity to join an established leader developing next-generation process intelligence technologies gives me the ability to assist customers with solving tomorrow's process challenges," said Sinur.
"I look forward to my new role at Global 360 as organisations continue to utilise BPM and process intelligence technologies to solve complex business problems."
