Gateway Insurance selects 4Sight BI

The US based Gateway Insurance Company will use 4Sight's Business Intelligence (BI) for Property and Casualty platform for its commercial lines including general liability, commercial auto and worker's compensation, says Insurance Tech.

Mike Anagnost, CIO for Gateway, noted the platform's ease of use as a differentiating factor in its selection, in a statement.

"Being able to see our data in a short time through the 70-plus reports and dashboards, as well as drag-and-drop ad-hoc reporting, provides us the ability to better understand our business and to view it from many different angles," Agnanost says.

SAP avails analytics apps

Seeking to bring its vertical industry business process expertise to bear on BI, enterprise applications company SAP announced availability of 10 new pre-packaged analytics applications for consumer product manufacturers and other companies, writes Managing Automation.

The new SAP BusinessObjects analytics applications, based on BI tools, include pre-built dashboards, metrics, and reports designed to provide business process insights to a wide range of users, SAP says.

Just two of the 10 analytics applications unveiled by SAP yesterday are manufacturing-specific, and both of those are designed for makers of consumer products.

Prism wins Oettinger project

Prism Informatics announced its first winning BI project in Europe from Oettinger Davidoff at Basel, Switzerland, which produces tobacco products, leather goods and accessories, reveals RTT News.

Prism will provide Oettinger to lead, design, re-engineer and build a new reporting system based on SAP BI software.

This project addresses some challenges and opportunities to be gained by Davidoff, including getting a rapid insight into business information, thus reducing the load on SAP ERP caused by report processing.
