Gauntlet VPN receives third-party IPsec certification

Johannesburg, 09 Aug 2000

PGP `s Gauntlet virtual private (VPN) product has received IPsec certification from ICSA, a provider of security assurance services for e-business. PGP Security is a business unit of Network Associates.

"ICSA works to reduce and improve the quality of e-business security, enabling the safe deployment of new Internet technologies and applications," says Lloyd Wood, MD of Network Associates SA.

"PGP Security`s adherence to these standards ensures e-businesses that they are utilising the highest quality security solutions."

Other PGP Security products that are IPsec-certified are Gauntlet Firewall for Solaris and Windows NT, Gauntlet VPN for HP-UX and WebShield E-ppliance. The ICSA conducts the certification tests to determine a product`s ability to successfully resist threats and risks, and certifies only those products that meet ICSA`s standards.

"PGP Security continues to provide customers with products that adhere to industry technology standards and offers enhanced security measures to decrease vulnerabilities of e-business," continues Wood. "The certification from ICSA eases the process of building a secure infrastructure by ensuring that the Gauntlet VPN solution is interoperable with other IPsec certified products."
