The Hyperion User Group SA (HUGS) and Global Technology Business Intelligence (GBI), a division of JSE Securities Exchange-listed Global Technology, will host the second business intelligence (BI) forum aimed exclusively at the Hyperion user community. GBI is the local partner and distributor of Hyperion solutions.
This BI forum will be held on 21 August at The Castle in Kyalami, and its focus will be on discussing the solutions being used by Hyperion users to improve on business performance management.
"We are taking a different approach with this forum, as the focus will include user and professional presentations and an interactive panel discussion covering tips, tricks, problems and experiences," says Susan van Zyl, chairperson of HUGS, representing FirstRand Banking Group on the HUGS committee. "Also, the panel discussions will include all the expert consultants on Hyperion solutions from GBI."
The speakers at the forum will be:
. Peter Elstob from Sasol - the migration from Enterprise to Hyperion Financial Management (HFM);
. Fraser Pearson from Liberty Group - presenting their Hyperion Essbase solution,
. Willie Arnoldi from GBI - on behalf of the services team at GBI;
. Inge Rickhoff from GBI - on behalf of the GBI Academy;
. Jaco Steenkamp, Charl du Toit and Desmond Botha from Product Management (GBI) - new product features.
HUGS plans to hold regular forums every four months to provide its current users with more insight into the customer solutions, updates, advanced information and personal commentary regarding specific issues.
The primary benefits of the forum will come from the general interaction between customers, as the user community and Hyperion experts on the implementation of products, sharing of experiences and knowledge gained.
Also, users will be able to interact with product managers and consultants on technical issues.
"This forum will also help GBI to interact with its customers and be able to introduce and directly inform users of new features that could be beneficial to the businesses of Hyperion users," says Van Zyl.
As an addition to the forum, Hyperion is holding its annual conference in November, which will take place at Sun City.
Reservations and more information on the exclusive HUGS forum can be made with Vivienne Bezuidenhout on (011) 319 8900 or vbezuidenhout@glotec.co.za.
