The annual Hyperion user conference will be held at Sun City from 17 to 20 November. Hosted by local partner and distributor of Hyperion solutions Global Technology Business Intelligence (GBI), a division of JSE Securities Exchange-listed Global Technology, and Hyperion in association with the Hyperion User Group of South Africa (HUGS), the conference is themed "Solutions Africa 2002 - Set to rise".
"The Hyperion conference is one of the main business intelligence events in Africa," says Alwin Swales, GBI marketing director. "For Hyperion users in particular it highlights the benefits and functionality of Hyperion products and gives users direct contact with experts in the business intelligence sector. It`s an opportunity to learn, see and hear how powerful solutions drive performance and measure profitability."
Solutions Africa 2002 will offer a number of general sessions for all Hyperion users, with presentations from international Hyperion experts and clients. There will also be around 50 breakout sessions, where users will have the opportunity to learn more about their own and other Hyperion applications and products, product upgrades and new technologies, as well as gain insight from fellow customer case studies.
Breakout sessions will be divided into four separate tracks:
* The business solutions track will focus on various solutions to improve business performance. Included will be non product-specific general presentations on business performance management, as well as customer case studies.
* The financial applications track concentrates on Hyperion`s financial applications and users will have the opportunity to benefit from the latest tips and tricks, technical information, best practices, and product updates.
* The analytical applications track will cover all information regarding Hyperion`s business intelligence platform and associated tools.
* The Hyperion applications and repeats track will cover Hyperion`s other applications including Hyperion Performance Scorecard and Business Modeling as well as repeats of some sessions that delegates may have missed.
This year`s conference includes a wide variety of speakers ranging from international Hyperion executives, customers, and product specialists to a number of South African customers and GBI consultants.
Included on the speaker list are: Alain Blanc, VP EMEA, Hyperion UK; Johan Cloete, CEO, Global Technology Business Intelligence; Ray Payette, VP development, Hyperion Financial Reporting, Hyperion USA; Mike Malwitz, senior product marketing manager, financial consolidation and reporting products, Hyperion USA; Matt Abrams, director, channels, Essbase Technologies and market development, Hyperion USA; Sue Collins, product marketing manager, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion UK.
"We have put together a fully interactive user conference," says Swales. "Having built on the successful format of previous Hyperion User Group (HUGS) meetings and included product information, customer success stories and a solutions centre, we have also set up interactive forums where users will have the opportunity to discuss product-related issues with fellow users and product specialists. This will ensure that all who attend derive maximum benefit from their time with us."
