Global Technology Business Intelligence (GBI) is offering companies a free 30-day trail of Hyperion Intelligence, which delivers a management dashboard that answers critical questions, in its Dare to Dashboard Challenge.
The offer began in May and is running until August this year, for clients or potential customers in the Gauteng area.
Marc Scheepbouwer, CEO of GBI, says of the challenge: "In three days GBI will turn your corporate data into business intelligence. Companies that take up our Dare To Dashboard Challenge will get proof of concept in three days, with 30 days of in-depth business intelligence absolutely free.
"Dashboards can help you improve decision-making, accelerate business processes, and optimise visibility across your organisation."
Fortune 1000 companies are increasing their use of digital dashboards and extending their planning processes beyond finance to operational management, according to a survey conducted at Hyperion`s Solutions 2004 conference in April in Chicago.
The survey also showed a sharp increase in the use of dashboards to improve monitoring, and scorecards to advance alignment between business goals and individual results.
"According to the survey, 43% of respondents said they had extended the planning, budgeting and forecasting process beyond their finance departments to integrate other key groups, including sales, marketing, operations, human resources and engineering," says Scheepbouwer.
The survey also found that respondents are increasingly relying on dashboards for performance monitoring, and scorecards to help align business strategies and objectives with those of their departments, teams and individuals. According to the survey, 41% of respondents are adopting these measures to help drive performance broadly and deeply across their organisations.
Solutions 2004 also featured a Dashboard Workshop, sponsored by HP, which allowed attendees to engage in a dashboard demonstration, as well as complete a survey designed to uncover information about their dashboard needs. The Dashboard Workshop alone recorded more than 1 200 respondents, of whom 30% are live with dashboards today, and more than 45% are considering implementing a dashboard solution. These numbers support the sampling of data taken from the annual survey.
Regarding the Dare To Dashboard Challenge, Scheepbouwer says: "Expert staff will assess your technical architecture, install Hyperion Intelligence at your organisation and build a solution using your actual data sources. In addition, basic training and reference documentation will be provided."
He says within three days GBI will deliver the dashboard, which will "deliver real results by answering critical questions", such as:
* Will we meet our sales targets?
* What percentage of deals have we been closing?
* Is the supply chain over or under optimal levels?
