GE Medical Systems standardises on Cognos Series 7

Business intelligence (BI) solution provider, Cognos, has announced that GE Medical Systems has signed a multimillion-dollar deal to deploy Cognos Series 7 as the company-wide BI standard.

GE Medical Systems is a medical imaging, interventional procedures, healthcare services and information technology company. It has purchased the complete framework of Series 7 BI products, including Impromptu Web Reports, PowerPlay, Cognos Query and Visualizer.

In addition, GE Medical will roll-out Cognos Finance, an enterprise-wide financial application that provides a complete framework for financial professionals to understand and monitor the performance of the business.

The initial Cognos deployment will roll-out to more than 5 000 employees in departments across GE Medical, which will use Cognos BI to analyse and report on critical key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive corporate performance management initiatives throughout the enterprise.
