With the new high-speed broadband service due to be launched in South Africa in mid-2009, Duxbury Networking has announced a series of high-performance home gateways designed to enable service providers to deliver new revenue-generating services to end-users.
The Netgear portfolio includes gateways for DSL, cable broadband, fibre and broadband wireless access networks.
“Each gateway combines ease-of-use with high performance to support converged multimedia services and enable the new breed of broadband consumers to use video, download large files, and support their VOIP phone systems with converged applications for the ultimate in home networking,” says Andy Robb, chief technology officer at Duxbury Networking.
“This expanded portfolio of Netgear products is designed to augment service provider offerings by enabling end-users to distribute their digital content throughout their home network easily and securely.
“In addition, the ease-of-use and manageability associated with the products will give broadband service providers the ability to streamline their support costs,” he adds.
