GenerationX licensed to Old Mutual Bank and Uskotec by IDION Business Solutions Group

Idion Technology Holdings` Business Solutions Group (IDION.BSG) has recently licensed their proprietary Rapid Application Development Technology (`RAD`), known as `GenerationX`, to Old Mutual Bank and Uskotec.

GenerationX is a development tool that rapidly generates VB6 COM object source, resulting in a well-normalised database in an object hierarchy.

"By using GenerationX, developers have the ability to run through a wizard-driven process that allows them to customise the generated code, including MTS transactioning enablement, ASP support, XML streaming and a choice of data access models," comments Craig Fullerton, Technical Director at Idion.BSG.

" GenerationX has recently been used with great success on a major application development, achieving significant time and cost savings. We anticipate further return-on-investment on other projects throughout the year," points out Malcolm Estment, Research Director at Uskotec.

The licensing of GenerationX to Old Mutual Bank & Uskotec will evidently offer Idion strong market acceptance of the product.

"Idion has been using GenerationX internally for the past eighteen months on most of its major development and implementation projects," Fullerton comments.

Idion is currently enhancing GenerationX to generate middle layer code off multiple platforms, thereby opening up a wider target market for the tool.

"Idion`s research and development investment in proprietary technology has really started to payoff in the past four to six months and we anticipate substantial growth both locally and abroad."
