Gestetner SA and MailSys signs high-volume deal Gestetner South Africa has entered into a high-volume printing contract with MailSys formerly known as Q Form Processing. The contract will see the implementation of three high-volume Gestetner 105 pages per minute digital MFPs at MailSys` premises in Durban.
"What makes this unique is that Gestetner has developed a custom-made high-volume print solution for MailSys," says, Alan Austin, general manager: Sales for Gestetner SA. "With this implementation we have proven once again that we have the expertise and products to deliver a custom-made high-volume printing solution to all areas of the marketplace"
The three Gestetner 10512 digital MFPs will increase MailSys` printing capacity by a total monthly volume of 2.1 million pages "The increased capacity and software solution now makes it possible for us to venture further into the publishing sector and increase our variable data printing options and applications," says Sean Cleland, director of MailSys.
The 10512 cut sheet MFPs replace other high speed, volume opposition machines. The machines can also be linked to operate in tandem, effectively increasing the printing speed and adding more flexibility to the print run, meaning if one machine goes offline the other machine/s will complete the run.
The software solution developed allows for all the current equipment and the new Gestetner 10512s to integrate with the existing network at MailSys. "We are now able to receive data in any print format and print to the Gestetner machines, without having to re-configure any settings or have legacy programs changed," adds Cleland.
MailSys needed a high-volume printer capable of handling the increasing printing demand and a software solution capable of integrating all the equipment with the existing IT network," adds Cleland. "Gestetner`s 10512 digital MFP addressed this need and together with the installed software solution now have an integrated total document solution."
