American Power Conversion's (APC) Symmetra Power Array is the latest category of power protection system to meet today's scalability and availability demands.
Available from Siltek Distribution Dynamics (SDD), the focused IT company in the Siltek technology supply chain, the Power Array is a single unit composed of modular components, providing the foundation for building and scaling near-continuous availability power systems with a flexible range of power capacity.
Power Array technology matches the modularity, redundancy and scalability of RAID and server clustering and mirroring to increase overall systems availability.
"Users can experience maximum uptime and near-continuous system availability through the Power Array's N+1 redundancy," says Steven Kramer, APC Business Unit Manager at SDD. N+1 redundancy means the Symmetra's power sharing technology allows multiple modules to share the connected load, even in the event of a module failure or removal.
Power Array protects investment through enabling expansion or reconfiguration as easily as adding or removing a module. Modules, in increments of 4kVA can expand power capacity, while adding battery modules improves battery run-time.
"The manageability of Power Array enables users to easily utilise existing APC software and accessories to monitor and control power and equipment, as well as shut down multiple servers and reboot individual locked up machines," he says.
