Ghana IT agency to upgrade WiMax networks
Bernama.com reports.
The move forms part of an agreement signed with Huawei Technologies to implement the second phase of an e-government network; which is expected to witness the rollout of 30 base transceiver stations, bringing NITA's total stations to 60 across the country.
NITA claims that LTE will provide “4G-class data and voice services” to the country's e-government network, Ghana Business News states.
This move is expected to improve government-to-government services as well as leverage ICT to stimulate government-citizen interaction through e-services.
In addition, a secondary data centre, in Kumasi, and some e-services including e-health and correspondence management system for ministries, departments and agencies, will be deployed during the second phase of the project, VibeGhana.com notes.
