Gigabyte introduces new graphics accelerators featuring NVIDIA Ultra platforms

Johannesburg, 17 Feb 2004

Gigabyte Technology, distributed exclusively to the South African marketplace by Rectron, has announced the immediate availability of its new graphics accelerator offerings, the FX5950 Ultra and FX5700 Ultra.

Based on the recently released NVIDIA GeForce Ultra platforms, the graphics accelerators both offer advanced 3D functionality for extreme gaming.

"Both the FX5950 Ultra and FX5700 Ultra feature NVIDIA`s Intellisample high-resolution compression technology (HCT) which provides high-resolution performance and quality to remove image defects," comments Reon Coetzee, marketing manager at Rectron.

In addition, the graphic accelerators feature the CineFX 2.0 engine that provides 128-bit, studio-quality precision for high-resolutions textures as well as decreasing low-precision image defects.

Says Coetzee: "The graphics accelerators also support AGP 8X that maximises throughout up to 2.1GBps - enhancing 3D graphics performance."

The release of Gigabyte`s graphics accelerators further highlights the company`s recently introduced NVIDIA graphics card strategy. Following the success of Gigabyte`s NVIDIA nForce partnership, the company now integrates NVIDIA`S GeForce GPU-based graphics cards into its range of products.
