Gigabyte Technology, together with official South African distributor Rectron, has introduced the GA-8I955X Royal, the company`s most advanced motherboard to date, featuring the new Intel 955X Express chipset.
This latest Gigabyte i-DNA (Intelligent Dual Nano Architecture) series motherboard synergises performance DNA with security DNA into fundamental intelligence technologies for today`s digital lifestyle.
Explains Michael Hann, Gigabyte product manager at Rectron: "i-DNA motherboards such as the Royal target not only PC gamers and enthusiasts who push their systems to the limit, but also normal PC users who are looking for a solid future-ready system for their home and office computing needs."
The GA-8I955X Royal can handle up to four instruction threads at a time when used with an Intel Pentium processor Extreme Edition supporting Hyper Threading technology, or two threads when used with an Intel Pentium D processor; providing multi-core server functionality from the desktop.
In addition, Gigabyte has also overcome previous DDR2 frequency barriers to reach 888MHz. This higher memory frequency leads to larger memory bandwidth and improved performance of demanding CPU intensive digital media applications.
The GA-8I955X Royal also comes standard with the CPU Intelligent Accelerator 2 (CIA 2) and Memory Intelligent Booster 2 (MIB 2) that delivers optimal performance.
Lastly, for the audiophile, the GA-8I955X Royal produces multi-channel sound, advanced voice and communication input, and multi-streaming capability from Intel High Definition Audio. Designed for Dolby Master Studio with advanced Dolby Digital EX & Pro Logic IIx technologies, Intel High Definition Audio guarantees cinematic quality audio while watching movies or playing games.
