GijimaAst appoints new COO

Leading JSE-listed ICT services and solutions company GijimaAst has announced the appointment of Carel Potgieter as chief operating officer (COO), effective immediately.

In this role, Potgieter will be responsible for all delivery capabilities of the company.

Potgieter has been serving as the executive director responsible for the Enterprise Application Solutions Division of GijimaAst since August 2005 and has brought significant hands-on information and communications technology (ICT) experience to the board of directors of GijimaAst.

Potgieter has been active in the ICT industry since 1984. He joined GijimaAst through the merger of certain businesses of Gijima Info Technologies Afrika (Proprietary) Limited and AST Group Limited. He was previously chief executive officer of Gijima Support Services (Proprietary) Limited.
