GijimaAst Group (GijimaAst) is proud to announce the appointment of Jonas Bogoshi (41) as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive Director.
Bogoshi comes to GijimaAst from the State Information Technology Agency (SITA), where he holds the position of Chief of Strategic Services. He will be taking up the baton of leadership from retiring CEO, John Miller, who played a fundamental role in the turnaround of AST, facilitating the success of the Gijima and AST merger and the subsequent repositioning of the company.
"We are thrilled to welcome Jonas Bogoshi to GijimaAst," comments John Miller, exiting CEO. "He brings with him a wealth of experience and a personal network that I know will be of benefit in taking the company forward.
"Bogoshi has played a significant role in SITA's recent turnaround and this gives him a deeper understanding of our business and our people. I wish him well for the future and am pleased to hand over a thriving organisation with a pipeline of opportunities that are already bearing fruit."
On his appointment, Bogoshi says: "I am delighted to be joining GijimaAst. This is an exciting time in the company's development and I look forward to contributing my experience to further enhance its operational efficiency levels, delivery capabilities and the management of strategic relationships."
Bogoshi holds a BSc (Computer Science) degree and is an ICT veteran, with more than 18 years' experience working for blue-chip multinationals, including IBM and CISCO.
At SITA, he played a significant advisory role to government, as well as delivering on his mandate to identify and access new markets, services, products and revenue streams.
"Jonas Bogoshi is a sought-after executive and we are very pleased to have successfully brought him into the GijimaAst fold - despite offers from other major ICT players. He will add value through his knowledge and the respect he commands in both the private and public sector. Jonas joins a strong management team and will jointly take GijimaAst to greater heights, to the benefit of our clients, staff and shareholders," concludes Robert Gumede, Executive Chairman of GijimaAst.
Bogoshi will join GijimaAst on 1 July 2007.
