Glimpse the future at Internetix 2012

By Internet Solutions
Johannesburg, 26 Jul 2012

The 13th annual Internetix Conference, hosted by Internet Solutions (IS), will take place in Cape Town and Johannesburg on 2 and 7 August 2012 respectively. The 2012 conference will focus on the themes of community and collaboration, showcasing how organisations are leveraging communication tools to enable rich collaboration among diverse groups, thereby enhancing innovation and productivity.

“Internetix has become a very important part of our annual calendar as it gives us the opportunity to engage with our community of clients, partners and the industry at large, through a unique thought leadership platform,” explains Hillel Shrock, chief marketing officer at IS.

According to Shrock, a record number of delegates have registered for the 2012 conference, which is indicative of the popularity and relevance of the content shared at the conference. “Internetix is also a powerful communication platform as it lets us interact and share important information about the way in which the Internet is shaping the future, both from a business and social perspective,” he says.

This year's conference will once again offer delegates informative and thought-provoking keynote addresses, as well as business and technical streams from a host of thought leaders and technology experts. “The conference kicks off with keynote addresses from bestselling author and columnist James Surowiecki, who will give a talk on 'The Wisdom of Crowds', the title of his most acclaimed book; and legendary endurance swimmer Lewis Pugh, who shares his thoughts on 'Achieving the impossible',” explains Shrock.

The keynotes will then be followed by informative business and technical streams that aim to update attendees on the latest technologies and track future trends with regard to cloud computing, communication and enterprise mobility, with a focus on how these technologies are helping to build business communities through better collaboration. Topics include the evolution of last mile connectivity, how digitisation is disrupting almost everything, the monetisation of big data and harnessing the 'bring your own device' trend to enable a productive mobile workforce. Delegates will also be able to engage with various IS partners in the exhibition area between streams and during intervals.

“At Internetix 2012 we hope to once again provide delegates with information that is topical and relevant to the industry and inspire tomorrow by giving attendees an invaluable glimpse into what the future holds, as we showcase the promise of Internet-based technologies,” concludes Shrock.

Internetix Cape Town will take place on 2 August at the CTICC, and the Johannesburg event takes place on 7 August at The Campus, in Bryanston.
