Global Technology Banking, a subsidiary of Global Technology Limited, has upgraded Banco Standard Totta de Mocambique`s 22 branches to the first-ever Portuguese version of Globus. Globus, the world-leading banking solution, runs on the latest release of the UniVerse Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), supplied by Ardent Software Africa (Pty) Ltd.
Globus communicates seamlessly with the UniVerse RDBMS, and provides users with the latest graphic look and feel. Ken Theron, CEO of Global Technology Banking, explains, "The UniVerse RDBMS is the embedded technology on which Globus is built. The developer-friendly `post-relational` database is ideal for implementation in financial institutions where stability, flexibility and ease of access to data are critical in providing superior customer service, as well as continued success into the next millenium." All 22 branches have been rolled out, and phase one will be completed by the end of December 1999. The final applications for phase two are expected to be complete in April 2000.
