Infobright, the open source data warehousing company, today announced that GlobeTOM, a South African-based software developer, has joined the Infobright Partner network, both as a reseller of Infobright Enterprise Edition (IEE) and as an OEM that will embed IEE into its SOA-based product offering for, among others, telecommunications providers which presently form GlobeTOM's main customer base.
GlobeTOM develops innovative software solutions for customers in telecommunications, local government, sport and leisure, as well as mobile content markets, using object-oriented design, service-oriented architecture (SOA) and horizontal scalability principles as the foundation of its approach.
The company will leverage IEE to deliver a highly scalable and powerful analytic data warehouse to its customers at a competitive price.
“Our customers require solutions that can handle their heavy data requirements, without breaking the bank,” says Philip Stander, managing director of GlobeTOM. “Infobright's innovative approach to data warehousing enables GlobeTOM to affordably deliver the performance and scalability traditionally considered the domain of more costly data management solutions.”
Infobright's analytic database enhances application and service offerings with the ability to keep more data online, load data faster, and support greater flexibility in reporting and analysis. In addition, Infobright's self-managing software reduces administrative efforts by up to 90%, leverages industry-standard servers and requires far less storage than other products due to its industry-leading data compression and elimination of indexes, data partitioning or data duplication.
The reduction in hardware costs, administrative effort and affordable pricing means that companies like GlobeTOM can meet their customers' data management and BI requirements cost-effectively, increasing product margins and accelerating time-to-market.
“A host of systems integrators and OEMS are taking advantage of Infobright's easy-to-use, low-cost yet powerful analytic platform to drive new revenue streams and enhance their solutions,” says Paul Desjardins, vice-president of business development at Infobright. “We are pleased that GlobeTOM recognises the value of open source and welcome this innovative company into our growing network of partners.”
