Global Technology, which has the sole distribution rights in the southern hemisphere of GLOBUS, Temenos` world-leading banking solution, today announced that Temenos has successfully ported its GLOBUS modular banking solution to IBM`s mainframe platform. Effectively this makes GLOBUS available to 100% of the world`s banking market, significantly increasing Global Technology`s opportunities in this sector.
Ray Leonard, CEO of Global Technology, comments, "Many of the world`s leading financial institutions utilise IBM technology as the backbone of their operations, making the GLOBUS system`s IBM compatibility particularly significant. This development expands Global Technology`s potential market to encompass 100% of the banking and finance industry in the southern hemisphere and provides an excellent opportunity for Global Technology to sell all of its banking solutions as well as the implementation and support services, which supplement the GLOBUS solution. The GLOBUS system remains entrenched as the world`s leading banking solution being used by many of the world`s top financial institutions."
George Koukis, Chairman and CEO of Temenos, adds, "Offering our industry-leading integrated banking solution on the S/390 platform is expected to greatly increase GLOBUS` market penetration, especially with larger financial institutions. Currently, more than 350 sites in 87 countries world-wide have implemented GLOBUS to enable them to remain competitive and to provide innovative products and services to their customers."
