GLOBUS has been named the world`s leading wholesale back-office banking software for the fourth consecutive year. This is according to International Banking Systems (IBS), which has just released its annual sales league table, which has ranked GLOBUS tops for 2001, after similar successes from 1998 to 2000.
GLOBUS has now been installed at a total of 274 customers in over 450 sites across the globe. It recently secured its greatest success at ING Bank. JSE Securities Exchange-listed Global Technology distributes and supports GLOBUS in southern Africa, Africa and Australia through wholly owned Global Technology Australia. It also owns 15% of Temenos, the Swiss-listed company which developed GLOBUS.
"This award indicates yet again that banks around the world are moving to the integrated model GLOBUS drives and supports," says Ray Leonard, CEO of Global Technology. "This integrated model of banking makes for smoother processes, easier customer relationships, lower cost-to-income ratios and enhanced competitive advantage."
The IBS table highlights the fact that banks continued to invest in back-office systems during 2001, but large-scale projects were few and far between. The total number of sales for 2001 added up to only one more than for 2000.
The report states that GLOBUS was at the top of the table, selling across the globe.
IBS says of GLOBUS: "It is able to compete on all fronts and there is seldom a selection in which it is not involved. Its sales resources are large and tenacious. It also has a very good track record in terms of delivery for treasury."
