Goaldata, sole distributor of RightFAX products in southern Africa, has announced the release of the RightFAX version 7.0 suite of products. RightFAX 7.0 combines powerful network fax and production fax technologies into one comprehensive offering that delivers the most powerful, cost effective and flexible fax solution on the market today.
John Harrison, General Manager of Goaldata, says that not only does the release of RightFAX 7.0 underline the dominance of RightFAX products worldwide, but also strengthens Goaldata`s position as South Africa`s leader in the field of fax server and unified messaging solutions.
According to Harrison, RightFAX 7.0 includes a range of enhancements that will encourage existing and potential users to take a serious look at the new version.
New features include:
NT Security Authentication - RightFAX v7.0 servers now support user authentication via Windows NT`s standard mechanisms by storing and passing current user security identifications (SIDs) between the client and server.
Windows 2000 Client Support - RightFAX v7.0 clients will support Windows 2000 Beta desktops and Windows 2000 desktop users will have access to all of the software components currently offered to Windows 95/98 and Windows NT desktop users.
Gateway for Microsoft Exchange - The RightFAX v7.0 gateway for Microsoft Exchange provides more flexible administration and report delivery, offers greater control of load-balancing options, actively tracks messages, and allows the administrator to define an association between Exchange MAPI properties and RightFAX properties.
RightFAX Gateway for Lotus Notes - The release of the RightFAX v7.0 product line includes enhancements to the optional RightFAX Gateway for Lotus Notes. The redesign is comprehensive and offers complete integration with Notes API and eliminates reliance on VIM. There are also several new developments for the Notes client desktop, designed to make both application faxing and message faxing easier.
SNMP Alerting Module - The RightFAX SNMP Alerting Module provides SNMP access to status data from a RightFAX server. It sends alerts on behalf of the server and allows services to be stopped and started from a management application. The status data and alerts can be monitored by any SNMP-capable management application. Production-enabled RightFAX Enterprise v7.0 servers provide SNMP functionality via a module which extends the SNMP service included with Microsoft Windows NT Server. This module sets administrative alerts ("traps") and provides information to SNMP management clients. Sold as an add-on module to RightFAX Enterprise or RightFAX Enterprise Suite servers.
According to Harrison, the RightFAX product suite is now available in three server options. RightFAX Business Fax Servers for small to medium size, single location organisations; RightFAX Enterprise Fax Servers for medium to large, multi-site organisations; and RightFAX Production Fax Servers for specialist, high-volume applications.
"RightFAX 7.0 is the only product suite available that converges industry leading network, and production fax under one umbrella to provide customers with highly scalable, reliable and adaptable electronic document delivery," says Harrison.
RightFAX production fax servers provide high-volume, low-cost electronic delivery and receipt of business critical documents such as purchase orders, invoices and sales orders in a variety of formats including fax, e-mail, EDI-to-fax and delivery over the Internet.
RightFAX production solutions save companies time and money while improving efficiency and reliability by eliminating manual processes and the expense of mailing documents. They also improve cash flow by drastically reducing the time necessary to exchange invoices, statements and other business documents with customers, vendors and partners.
Tightly integrated with ERP applications such as SAP, Oracle and Baan, RightFAX production solutions offer unmatched flexibility and performance in delivering mission critical documents.
The full suite of RightFAX v7.0 products will be available from Goaldata as of 10th November 1999.
