Google offers MS Exchange back-up
Google is unveiling a service called 'Message Community' that it says will serve as disaster insurance for Microsoft Exchange users, backing up their e-mail and contact data into Google applications, says Media Beat.
The search giant isn't one to shy away from pulling business from Microsoft and its Exchange products, the report says. In fact, it even offers a service to directly transition from Exchange over to Google's enterprise applications.
According to Media Beat, this could be another chance for Google to get its enterprise products in the hands of potential customers. If a Microsoft Exchange server goes down, Google Message Community users can log into Gmail and Google Calendar and move on with their lives.

Salesforce.com debuts cloud database
Salesforce.com, an enterprise cloud computing company, has released Database.com, which is touted as the world's first enterprise database built for the cloud, writes the International Business Times.
The company says database.com is built from the ground to power new enterprise applications that are cloud, mobile and social.
Database.com is open for use with any language, platform and device, enabling developers to focus on building great applications instead of tuning, maintaining and scaling databases, it says. The New York Stock Exchange-listed company says database.com is now designed and will be made available as a standalone cloud database service in 2011.
