GRCBizassurance has signed a strategic partnership with Qualys, a global -based vulnerability management provider.

As part of the agreement, GRCBizassurance will deliver vulnerability management services to South African and sub-Saharan customers, focusing initially on the telecommunications, public and resources sectors.

Caesar Tonkin, managing executive of GRCBizassurance, says: “We decided to formally sign up and partner with Qualys because of our real hands-on experience with using Qualys, and that Qualys is highly rated by the leading research analysts.

“Our message to the market is about providing trusted assurance and our focus is to provide the enterprise intelligence services using cloud-based offerings that have global recognition and are aligned with what our customers want.”

According to GRCBizassurance, it will provide independent managed security services using the QualysGuard IT Security and Suite.

GRCBizassurance says it will use QualysGuard as a platform for assisting customers in reducing their overall security risk, preventing business exposure, keeping their customers' threat profile up to date, and providing comprehensive SANS-based security dashboard reporting.

Working with GRCBizassurance as a Qualys value-added services partner, Qualys will offer a dedicated technical account management team to ensure project success.

Tonkin says 2012 is a year in which South African enterprises, financial organisations and government needs to be more proactive in terms of governance, risk and compliance, and information security management.

“The vulnerability management space is a natural fit to King III. It's a natural fit to enterprise risk management and security incident response processes,” concludes Tonkin.
