Great Plains Africa held its annual `Stampede to Africa` conference in November 1999, where several awards were handed out to Great Plains` value added resellers (VARs) in recognition of excellence.

Chris Harris, Managing Director of Great Plains Africa, presented the awards to the VARs. Logical, a Great Plains VAR, received the `Teamwork Award`, which is awarded to the team that continually excels in all aspects of teamwork within its organisation. The team at Logical combined their skills in sales, product implementation, development and project management to provide total solutions to their customer base. Logical also won the `Technical Innovator of the Year` award, which is aimed at partners who constantly demonstrate technical innovations in finding complete solutions to their customer`s requirements.

Parity Software, a Great Plains` solution developer, was awarded the `Solution Developer of the Year` award, for its provision of high quality business, enabling solutions that have aided partners, both in Africa and around the world.

True commitment to Great Plains` products and services was acknowledged with the `True Commitment` award, which was presented to Datasmith, a Cape Town-based VAR. The `Service Excellence` award went to C-Soft and Resolution Software. Grant Skinner, Managing Director of Resolution Software, received the `Leadership` award. "Grant has been a strong leader in his organisation and has inspired other VARs with the success he has attained and the organisation he has established," says Chris Harris.

Great Plains awarded the `Evangelist of the Year` award to Kevin Laing, Managing Director of FinSoft Consultancy, for constantly promoting Great Plains, the products they offer, the solutions they provide and for continually upholding the company`s virtual organisation image.

The `Trailblazer` award goes to the partner or individual who continuously shows their commitment and dedication to Great Plains, through breaking down barriers to make things happen for its customers. This was awarded to My Kamau Kuria, from VAR Quantum in Nairobi, Kenya.
