Juniper Networks, a leading provider of next-generation IP infrastructure systems, announced it is enabling the rapid bandwidth build-out at the edges of service provider networks with a suite of innovative IP solutions. The suite includes two new M-series platforms (M5TM and M10TM routers) designed for space- and power-constrained environments, a new set of high-speed, dedicated access T1/E1 and channelized DS-3 interfaces, and new access features for JunosTM Release 4.1 Internet software.
The M5 and M10 Internet backbone routers are the first platforms to offer wire- rate (T1/E1 to OC-48c/ STM -16c) performance with over ten times the forwarding and route lookup capacity, using only 25 percent of the power and space consumption of existing routers deployed for dedicated access today. These new products reduce operational costs and increase efficiency since the same JUNOS software runs across all Juniper Networks( platforms.
"Juniper's purpose- built routers are used in the world's largest and fastest growing networks. The current solutions in the dedicated access market lack the features and performance needed by our customers. It is a natural evolution to extend our backbone strengths and experience gained in the core to the edges of their networks", said Scott Kriens, chief executive officer and president of Juniper Networks.
Grintek Telecom is the sole distributor and integrator for Juniper's Internet backbone router products for the South African market.
Grintek is breaking new ground for the South African service provider market with this strong partnership. Juniper is a touchstone company which invests heavily in the research and development of new technologies designed to handle the ever increasing loads placed on IP networks today.
Grintek Telecom in conjunction with Juniper Networks will introduce this new technology to the local market.
