Unify Corporation today announced that Group Doux, Europe`s leading chicken and poultry producer, has selected Unify NXJ as its application solution for delivering product specification information to its production line and customers. With the web-based NXJ application, Group Doux`s different purchasing centers will be able to automate the management of the price, logistics and quality information specifications of their product reference systems.
Group Doux is the fourth largest producer of chickens and chicken by-products in the world and employs more than 15,000 people worldwide. For over 30 years Group Doux has ensured strict quality control of its food production, from whole chickens to cooked products. They set strict processing standards, from feeding stuffs to finished products, and have invented a new breeding technique allowing confinement animals to develop and grow more naturally.
As Group Doux has more than 50 sites worldwide, accurate, constantly up-dated information on its various products had to be available to everyone on the production line. Customers and producers also had to be brought closer together by ensuring that they shared the same commercial data on Group Doux`s products. Group Doux selected Unify NXJ to for its strategic applications for preparing and controlling these products.
"In comparing NXJ to other alternatives, we quickly realized that it enabled us to save time and human and technical resources," said Jean Philippe Saul, Group Doux`s Information Systems Manager. "After five days` design that also incorporated product-based training, a single developer assisted by a student completed the project in less than three months. We now have two fully integrated applications managed within our existing infrastructure, without the need for new investment in equipment, software or training."
