As an accredited ProClarity training centre for the European, Middle East and African (EMEA) region, Harvey Jones Systems has introduced two new courses to its offering, bringing the total number of courses available on ProClarity and Microsoft BI platform to seven.
ProClarity Advanced MDX (Multi-dimensional Expressions) training is a four-day, hands-on course that provides a comprehensive understanding of the MDX Query Language and its use in ProClarity products and solutions, while the five-day ProClarity SDK (Software Development Kit) course introduces students to the ProClarity software development kit.
"In our role as the official distributor of ProClarity solutions and products in Africa, we are considered the best centre for business intelligence on the ProClarity and Microsoft platforms in the region," says Erwin Bisschops, training manager at Harvey Jones Systems.
"Introducing these two courses makes us one of only a few companies with permission to give this training in our region. We are strongly committed to providing training, and have already trained over 1 000 people, more than half of whom have come from the ProClarity user community in the region."
The ProClarity Advanced MDX training covers a range of topics, including solving business problems in MDX, using Excel functions, MDX optimisation and debugging, and creating user-defined functions for MDX. It provides students with instructions on how to use ProClarity for advanced analytic needs and complex calculations, and solving common challenges in company-specific applications.
The ProClarity SDK course takes place in a laboratory where students learn how to use the SDK documentation and environment to create custom applications and integrate ProClarity into existing applications or information portals. It also provides them with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement customised solutions using the ProClarity Desktop and ProClarity Enterprise Server Object Models.
"Students enrolling for the SDK course are required to have a development licence with ProClarity, to ensure they gain maximum benefit from the training, and learn how to confidently and completely customise their ProClarity BI integration," Bisschops says. "They must also have an understanding of database and OLAP concepts, Visual Basic and Web programming, including ASP, VBScript and Jscript. Solution and deployment options covered in the course include VBA, VB6, VI6, Rich Component, Web Deployment and Plug-In coding."
