Harvey Jones wins Legal Aid Board BI tender

Johannesburg, 23 Jan 2008

Harvey Jones has won a tender to develop a business intelligence (BI) system for the Legal Aid Board, an independent statutory body that renders tax-funded legal representatives to indigent persons.

The system will be an end-to-end, best-practice BI system that will contain a corporate dashboard and analytical layer based on Microsoft's PerformancePoint Server and SQL Server Reporting Services.

"The Legal Aid Board collects vast amounts of data on a daily basis; however, the information often remains isolated in silos," says Obert Masango, information systems executive at the Legal Aid Board. "We decided to implement a business intelligence solution to create intelligent reporting from these data sources and present a single version of the truth."

"The Legal Aid Board has developed a full strategy using the balanced scorecard methodology and is looking for a fully integrated analytics environment that will monitor progress against the key performance indicators," says Keith Jones, MD of Harvey Jones.

Harvey Jones consultants will mentor and transfer skills to Legal Aid Board employees.

The project will be delivered in February 2008.
