Health sites to benefit from content management
New technology designed for e-health sites will be exhibited at the 2006 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference (13 to 16 February in San Diego) by Web content management developer Ektron, the company said in a statement.
CMS400.NET version 6.0, "a Web content management application that offers healthcare organisations all the tools they need to rapidly create, deploy and manage interactive e-health sites", will be showcased, Ektron said.
The report adds that e-health sites allow people timely and accurate information about disease, injury and treatment options, as well as data about facilities, services, clinical staff and events.
Open source book publishing content management app upgraded
Open source content management system (CMS) developers Outerthought has released version 1.4 of its flagship CMS Daisy, which supports book-quality publishing, the company claims in a news release on Content-Wire.
"Many CMS solutions focus on Web site content management, and offer virtually no production or export facility for book-type publications," says the release. "We believe this is a unique feature in the market of open source CMS," adds the company.
The software offers automatic re-chunking, re-ordering, and generation of tables of contents and indexes.
Microchip Technology implements enterprise CMS
Microchip Technology, provider of microcontroller and analogue semiconductors, has implemented an enterprise CMS solution.
The CMS is designed to manage the lifecycle of all Internet content and digital assets throughout the Microchip Technology organisation, Chron.com reports.
One element of the solution, MicrochipDIRECT, provides an online resource previously only available through Microchip sales offices, "including competitive pricing from local sales teams, credit-line or credit-card payment, and e-mail notification of orders, deliveries, and quote status," notes the article.
