
High expectations for Emdeon
Emdeon, a US medical billing company, is offering of 23.7 million shares priced at $15.50 a share, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Analysts say electronic processors like Emdeon are poised to benefit from healthcare reform legislation, especially as the Obama administration focuses on increasing efficiency through technology.
The company processes payment management and patient billing and collection. In 2008, it processed nearly half of all payment claims delivered electronically in the US.
Xcellink secures e-billing patent
Xcellink has patented an automated electronic funds transfer system, states Sys-Con Media.
Xcellink holds the rights to a patented payment process with multiple applications ranging from retail transactions to road tolling and utilities billing.
The technology enables payment transactions over wired or wireless links such as Bluetooth, infrared, WiFi, WiMax and near field communication.
AMX gets GIS
Enterprise solutions provider AMX plans to integrate Intergraph's geographic information system (GIS) with its business offerings to provide utilities with a complete suite of technologies, says Trading Markets.
Additional optional components for the pre-integrated solution include e-billing, business intelligence, cashiering, customer self-service and call centre software.
