High-spec graphics accelerators for gamers

Gigabyte Technology releases the much-anticipated GV-RX70 series
Johannesburg, 18 Nov 2004

Gigabyte Technology, together with South African distributor Rectron, has introduced the GV-RX70P256V (256MB GDDRIII memory) and GV-RX70P128V (128MB GDDRIII memory) graphics accelerators to South African users.

The GV-RX70P series is powered by the ATI RADEON X700Pro chipset with high-level 0.11 micrometer processing that includes a 16x PCI-Express interface. Performance is further enhanced through the use of eight pixel pipelines and six vertex engines at a clock speed of 425MHz.

"The GV-RX70P series offers abundant features that elevate the standards of graphics performance and visual realism as well as gaming stability to previously unattained levels," says Reon Coetzee, marketing manager at Rectron.

"Gigabyte Technology is a step ahead of its competitors as the company provides gamers with enhanced picture quality including sharp and accurate colours."

The GV-RX70P series supports DirectX9.0c and has a 3D-benchmark value of 6 000 for exceptional gaming performance.

Additionally, users can apply the dual-functionality of the GV-RX70P series to create a home entertainment system that exploits all the video capabilities of VideoShader HD found in the X800 series.

The GV-RX70P is also bundled with exciting software. "Thief "and "Joint operations" are packaged with GV-RX70P128D, while the GV-RX70P256D is paired with "Power Director3 ME", "Thief" and "Joint Operation". Both models are released with PowerDVD 5.
