Gestetner recently launched the new 32105, a digital copier and printer with network functionality, which offers complete control from a connected PC.
The 32105 has massive paper and toner storage capacity and a host of finishing options.
"At 105 pages per minute, this digital system outperforms analogue copiers and provides the first real alternative to the traditional large and inconvenient dedicated production systems," says Anthony Ho, product support manager at Gestetner.
Users can still double the output of the digital device to 210 pages per minute (ppm) with a Tandem option that links two 32105`s together.
"The 32105 has been designed for the professionals market, with a control panel featuring a 10-inch touch-sensitive colour LCD screen that ensures job setup is simple with non-stop input, throughput and output," says Ho "The 100 sheet feeder is standard, and for jobs with more than 100 pages, users can scan originals in batch mode. Up to 10 new jobs can be stored while the device is outputting, so that when the current job is finished, the next will automatically begin," says Ho. Even the most complex print jobs can be created, sent and managed directly from the users` PC, and job queues can be monitored from the control panel.
"The paper and toner supply can be refilled while the machine is running, ensuring non-stop operation," says Ho. But, he says, this is a rare task as the 32105 has a 7 550-sheet capacity in six drawers and a dual toner storage capacity of over 100 000 pages.
An optional online 3 000-sheet finisher can staple documents of up to 100 sheets with either one or two staples in up to four positions and has automatic hole punching. "This means documents can be finished ready to go into binders, offering a professional finish with up to five different paper types in one document, including covers, tab sheets and slip sheets."
"The 32105 comes with a range of Aficio and Fiery printer controller options and we will work with users to create a customised system that includes the right controller configuration, networking hardware and software to meet workflow requirements," says Ho The Gestetner 32105 produces 600dpi output for both print and copy jobs. Copy originals are scanned only once at 600dpi, avoiding all document-handling problems common on analogue copiers.
