Hisense is supportive of Ellerine Holdings

Hisense, the global manufacturer of premium consumer electronics and home appliances, has expressed concern and support of Ellerine Holdings as the company goes into curatorship.

Hisense has enjoyed a long standing relationship with Ellerine Furnishers. When the brand entered the South African market in 1996, Ellerines was one of the first retailers to stock Hisense's extensive range of household appliances.

Although Hisense is a Chinese brand, the factory in Atlantis employs over 500 people who are part of a skills transfer programme that is being led by Hisense technicians and engineers from China. The factory in Atlantis has plans to increase its workforce by up to 1 200 people in the next two to four years.

Should Ellerine Holdings go into liquidation, Hisense will endeavour to prevent severe job losses locally.

During this difficult time, Hisense is hopeful that liquidation is prevented and the business rescue process is successful.
